My Nandail never means that, the Nandail is my personal property.

Nor that, I am the master and controller of Nandail.

Rather, I have used the words "My Nandail" as my address.

And there is no question of being a master. Since my childhood, I used to spend my time in studying and literature.

I haven't played football since class 8, and I haven't played cricket since passing Dakhil (SSC).

Instead, I started practicing martial arts and yoga. Studies, literature, martial arts and yoga, these were my regular subjects during SSC exams.

And since 2004, I started doing military style body building to become a military officer.

On the one hand, Bangla Bhai and Bura Huzur were killing people and bombing people all over the country.

But in Nandail, I was motivated by patriotism and was training to become a military officer and taking regular classes in college.

I continued to exercise in military style until 2007. I stopped exercising in military style after I was admitted to Honors. But yoga and physical exercise are still going on today.

So, despite all this, I never got involved in the politics or local complications of Nandail.

I have never been involved in any debt or trouble at Nandail.

However if I want to deal with the cases pending in the court in the name of those who do local judicial meeting in Nandail. Because, I am an LLB.

Nonetheless, despite this, I do not engage in any debt settlement of Nandail.

After entering Honors third year, I began to withdraw more socially.

I almost avoid taking care of the fish in the village pond, taking care of the garden, taking care of the agricultural land etc.

I had only one goal then, that was to pass with honors.

That's why I reduced sitting in the shop completely. Because, I understood then, even after twenty years, I will be able to shop, but after ten years, I may not have the leisure to pass the honors.

Meanwhile, BNP and Hefazet Islam started anti-government movement.

I had no interest in it. Because I was busy with my studies and literature.

This is how I passed Honors – Masters.

Meanwhile, there have been many incidents and accidents in Nandail. Some of them are based on politics, and some of them are due to personal conflicts. But I did not join any of them.

It has been many years now that I have been living outside Nandail searching for a livelihood. Meanwhile, many incidents and accidents have happened in Nandail, which I do not know about. As far as I know, it is through the Facebook status given by different people. Nothing more.

Those who used to meet every day, now meet after two months, three months, even four months. Meet someone again after six months or eight months.

Amidst all this, Nandail is my address. That's why my Nandail.

I was born in Nandail, I grew up in Nandail. A bit of adventure and a bit of sport in between.

Adventure means, holding mongoose babies in cages, going to the crematorium and trying to catch ghosts in vain, eating fruits from our own coconut trees, mango trees, jujube (boroi) trees, jack fruit trees despite being in fatty health. Catching baby birds from trees in the from April to June. Nothing more.

Yes, I was a bit adventurous as a child. But the moral knowledge was much more than the age. I was very aware of not planting fruit from someone's tree, not catching fish from someone's pond, etc.

And due to reading Bangladeshi and foreign books, my knowledge and thinking power is much more than my age since childhood. Anyone who is educated can easily understand that by reading my writings.

So, from childhood I could easily keep myself away from crime and trouble.

Passed my SSC and Intermediate from educational institutions in Nandail.

Again going to Anandmohan College in Mymensingh from Nandail and taking classes, all this happened while staying in Nandail.

And outside Nandail, I have no house, no property. All that exists is in Nandail.

That's why I'm from Nandail.

And I never had to do any processions – meetings or agitations – gatherings to be "My Nandail - me of Nandail."

আমার নান্দাইল মানে কখনো এটা না যে, নান্দাইলটা আমার ব্যক্তিগত সম্পত্তি।

অথবা এটাও না যে,আমি নান্দাইলের হর্তা-কর্তা ও নিয়ন্ত্রক।

বরং আমার ঠিকানা হিসেবেই "আমার নান্দাইল" কথাটা আমি প্রয়োগ করেছি।

আর হর্তা-কর্তা হওয়ার তো প্রশ্নই আসে না। ছোটবেলা থেকেই আমি পড়াশোনা ও সাহিত্যচর্চা নিয়েই সময় কাটাতাম।

ক্লাস এইটের পর থেকে আমি ফুটবল খেলিনা আর দাখিল (এসএসসি) পাশ করার পর আমি ক্রিকেট খেলিনা।

এর পরিবর্তে আমি মার্শাল আর্ট ও ইয়োগা চর্চা শুরু করি। পড়াশোনা, সাহিত্যচর্চা, মার্শাল আর্ট ও ইয়োগা, এগুলো ছিলো এসএসসি পরীক্ষার সময়ে আমার নিয়মিত চর্চার বিষয়।

এবং ২০০৪ সাল থেকে মিলিটারি অফিসার হওয়ার জন্য আমি মিলিটারি স্টাইলে শরীর চর্চা শুরু করি।

একদিকে বাংলা ভাই ও বুড়া হুজুর সারাদেশে মানুষ খুন করছে আর বোমা হামলা করছে।

কিন্তু নান্দাইলে আমি তখন দেশপ্রেমে উদ্বুদ্ধ হয়ে মিলিটারি অফিসার হওয়ার জন্য শরীর চর্চা করছি আর কলেজে নিয়মিত ক্লাস করছি।

মিলিটারি স্টাইলে শরীর চর্চা চালু রেখেছিলাম ২০০৭ সাল পর্যন্ত।অনার্সে ভর্তি হওয়ার পর থেকে মিলিটারি স্টাইলে শরীর চর্চা বাদ দিয়ে দেই। কিন্তু ইয়োগা ও শরীর চর্চা আজো চলছে।

তাই এতো কিছুর মধ্যেও নান্দাইলের রাজনীতি অথবা স্থানীয় জটিলতায় আমি কখনো জড়াইনি।

নান্দাইলের কোন দেনদরবার অথবা ঝামেলায় আমি কখনো জড়াইনি।

অথচ যিনিরা নান্দাইলে দেনদরবার করেন,আমি চাইলে তিনিদের নামে আদালতে থাকা মামলাগুলো ডিল করতে পারি। কেননা,আমি একজন এলএলবি।

কিন্তু তা সত্ত্বেও আমি নান্দাইলের কোন দেনদরবারে জড়াই না।

অনার্স থার্ড ইয়ারে উঠার পর থেকে আমি সামাজিকভাবে নিজেকে আরো সরিয়ে নেয়া শুরু করি।

গ্রামের বাড়ির পুকুর-ডোবার মাছ দেখাশোনা, গাছের বাগান দেখাশোনা,কৃষি জমি দেখাশোনা প্রভৃতি অনেকাংশেই কমিয়ে ফেলি।

তখন আমার একটাই লক্ষ্য ছিলো,সেটা হচ্ছে অনার্স পাশ করা।

এ কারণেই দোকানে বসা একেবারেই কমিয়ে দিয়েছিলাম। কেননা, আমি তখন বুঝেছিলাম,বিশ বছর পরও দোকানদারি করতে পারব, কিন্তু দশ বছর পর হয়তো অনার্স পাশ করার অবসর পাবো না।

এরই মধ্যে শুরু হয় বিএনপি ও হেফাজতে ইসলাম কর্তৃক সরকার বিরোধী আন্দোলন।

তাতে আমার কোন ধরণের আকর্ষণ ছিলো না। কেননা আমি তখন আমার পড়াশোনা আর সাহিত্যচর্চা নিয়েই ব্যস্ত ছিলাম।

এভাবেই আমি অনার্স - মাস্টার্স পাশ করলাম।

এরই মধ্যে নান্দাইলে ঘটেছে অনেক ঘটনা ও দুর্ঘটনা।কোনটা রাজনীতিকে কেন্দ্র করে ,আবার কোনটা ব্যক্তিগত সংঘাতের কারণে। কিন্তু কোনটাতেই আমি জড়াই নি।

আজ অনেক বছর হলো আমি নান্দাইলের বাইরে থাকি জীবিকার তাগিদে।এরই মধ্যে নান্দাইলে ঘটে গিয়েছে অনেক ঘটনা ও দুর্ঘটনা, যেগুলো সম্পর্কে আমি জানিই না। যতটুকু জানতে পারি,সেটা বিভিন্ন জনের দেয়া ফেসবুক স্ট্যাটাসের মাধ্যমে।এর বেশি কিছু না।

যিনিদের সাথে প্রতিদিন দেখা হতো,এখন তিনিদের সাথে দেখা হয় দু মাস,তিন মাস,এমনকি চার মাস পর। আবার কারোর সাথে দেখা হয় ছয় মাস অথবা আট মাস পর।

এতো কিছুর মধ্যেই নান্দাইলই আমার ঠিকানা।তাই আমার নান্দাইল।

নান্দাইলের আমি।

নান্দাইলে আমার জন্ম,নান্দাইলে আমার বেড়ে উঠা।এরই মধ্যে কিছুটা দুরন্তপনা আর কিছুটা খেলাধুলা।

দুরন্তপনা মানে,বেজির বাচ্চা ধরে খাঁচায় ভরা,শ্মশানে গিয়ে ভুত ধরার ব্যর্থচেষ্টা, স্বাস্থ্য বেশি হওয়া সত্ত্বেও নিজেদের নারকেল গাছ,আম গাছ,বরই গাছ, কাঁঠাল গাছ থেকে ফল পাড়া।বাড়ির পাশের নরসুন্দা নদীর ব্রিজ থেকে ভরা নদীতে টারজানের মতো ড্রাইভ দেয়া আর বৈশাখ ও জ্যৈষ্ঠ মাসে গাছ থেকে পাখির বাচ্চা ধরা প্রভৃতি।এর বেশি কিছু না।

হ্যাঁ, ছোটবেলায় কিছুটা দুরন্ত ছিলাম। কিন্তু নৈতিক জ্ঞান ছিলো বয়সের তুলনায় অনেক বেশি।কারোর গাছ থেকে ফল‌ না পাড়া,কারোর পুকুর থেকে মাছ না ধরা প্রভৃতির বিষয়ে বেশ‌ সচেতন ছিলাম।

আর দেশি-বিদেশি বই পড়ার কারণে বয়সের তুলনায় আমার জ্ঞান‌ ও চিন্তাশক্তিটা ছোটবেলা থেকেই অনেক বেশি।সেটা আমার লেখাগুলো পড়লে শিক্ষিত যে কেউ সহজেই বুঝতে পারবেন।

তাই ছোটবেলা থেকেই অপরাধ আর ঝামেলা থেকে নিজেকে সহজেই সরিয়ে রাখতে পারতাম।

নান্দাইলের শিক্ষা প্রতিষ্ঠান থেকে আমার এসএসসি ও ইন্টারমেডিয়েট পাশ করা।

আবার নান্দাইল থেকে ময়মনসিংহের আনন্দমোহন কলেজে গিয়ে গিয়ে ক্লাশ করা, এ সকল কিছুই হয়েছে নান্দাইলে অবস্থান‌ করেই।

আর নান্দাইলের বাইরে আমার কোন বাড়িঘর নাই,কোন সম্পত্তি নাই। যেটুকু আছে, সবটুকুই নান্দাইলে।

তাই নান্দাইলের আমি।

এবং "আমার নান্দাইল ও নান্দাইলের আমি" হওয়ার জন্য আমাকে কখনো কোন মিছিল - মিটিং অথবা আন্দোলন - সমাবেশ করতে হয়নি।
